Moe Belmore has a long history of failure to pay property taxes. In 2010, the town of Greenfield, after attempting to collect taxes for 4 years, was about to deed his property out to the highest bidder. Luckily, his sister Joan agreed to pay the back taxes so he could keep the property.. HOWEVER... the agreement was that he would quit claim the property to her name in exchange for the thousands of dollars he owed to the town. Furthermore, another parcel of land was offered up as easement to a non-profit environmental organization which makes it tax exempt now. Moe's irresponsibility of finances had to be rescued by his sister. Patty contributed NOTHING to helping pay delinquent taxes in 22 years of living in his home.
